Title: | Transmitral and pulmonary venous flow during external cardiac pacing |
Conference Title: | Cardiostim 94 |
Abstract: | Little information exists about the safety or feasibility of transcutaneous cardiac pacing in patients undergoing surgery while in the lateral decubitus position and/or during one lung ventilation, pulmonary resection, thoracic aortic aneurysmectomy, esophagectomy or orthopedic surgery. Mitigating factors to pacing capture during these procedures might include: an open chest, shifting of mediastinal contents and atypical electrode placement. |
