Abstract: The prognosis for patients with a high-grade astrocytoma (HGA) remains poor despite treatment with surgery, radiation therapy (RT) and conventional chemotherapy, and new approaches are required. In this paper we summarize our experience using high-dose chemotherapy (HDCX) and autologous bone marrow rescue (ABMR) as treatment for HGA.
