Article Title: | Mediastinal germ cell tumors. A continuing odyssey |
Abstract: | Mediastinal germ cell tumors are rare, and in the past they were uniformly lethal. A high index of suspicion leading to early diagnosis combined with modern interdisciplinary management can now prolong comfortable survival and produce many cures. The development of Cis-Platinum based combination chemotherapy, and its early use, has been the major factor in the improvement of treatment results. |
