Article Title: Unanticipated clinical presentation of unusual foreign body in the breast
Abstract: Excisional biopsy of a mammographically suspicious breast lesion in a 57-year-old woman showed foreign material in dense fibrous tissue. This proved to be a portion of a drain, used to evacuate a breast abscess 35 years ago, which had been retained and undergone calcification. This is an example of the type of unusual pathologic conditions that may be detected mammographically and mistaken clinically for a malignant neoplasm. © 1994.
