Title Series: Immunology Series
Abstract: Approximately 45,000 new cases of bladder cancer will be diagnosed in the United States in 1988. Most (75%) of these will present as superficial disease confined to the mucosa or the submucosa (Tl). Approximately 50–80% of these tumors will recur and 10–30% will show grade and stage progression [1]. Identifying those patients whose tumors will progress is critical since most of the 12,000 annual deaths resulting from bladder cancer are in patients with muscle wall invasion and metastatic disease [1]. © 1990 by MARCEL DEKKER, INC.
