Abstract: |
Bone cancers can be classified into two groups: primary bone cancer and cancer metastatic to bone. Primary bone cancers reflect the cellular and extracellular structure of the skeleton. They are derived histogenetically from the osteoclasts, whose origin is from hematopoietic cells and from osteoblasts that originate from stromal cells. Stromal cells may also differentiate embryologically into chondroblasts and fibroblasts. Bone cancers may also on occasion arise from other hematopoietic and neural cells. © 1990 by MARCEL DEKKER, INC. All Rights Reserved. |
