Abstract: |
R. K. Portenoy takes exception to the facts stated by J. A. Billings and S. D. Block in their commentary (1997) on their own article (1996) and accompanying rejoinders on euthanasia and physician assisted suicide. Portenoy states that the empirical evidence does not document the widespread intentional killing of the terminally ill, as suggested by Billings and Block, and that their beliefs should be stated as opinions and not as facts without solid supporting evidence.
