This second edition text, using a multidisciplinary approach, presents up-to-date information regarding the diagnosis and treatment of gynecological tumors. It comprises thirty-seven individually authored chapters divided into three sections. It is intended for students, gynecologic oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and the general practitioner. The epidemiology of gynecologic cancers, genetic determinants, biology, and immunology of gynecologic cancers are thoroughly examined in the first section of the book. Therapeutic modalities and related subjects such as surgical principles in gynecologic oncology and the physical aspects of radiation oncology are presented. Chemotherapy principles, pharmacology, and management of pain in gynecologic caner are also discussed. Sexual rehabilitation, nutrition, and diagnostic imaging techniques in gynecologic oncology treatments are evaluated. Other topics include disease sites such as the vulva, vagina, and uterine cervix as well as the pathogenesis and diagnosis of preinvasive lesions.
