Abstract: |
This 50-chapter textbook with papers from more than 75 contributing authors is intended for use by pathology novices and experienced pathologists. The book aims to bridge the gap between the disciplines of histology and pathology by providing pathological interpretations for the significance and function of many histological structures. Chapters examine the following organs and organ systems: central and peripheral nervous, hematopoietic and lymphoid, male and female genital, and endocrine systems; breast; bone; head and neck; lungs; alimentary canal and associated organs; heart and blood vessels; and urinary tract. In addition, the histology of cutaneous tissues, myofibroblasts, adipose tissues, skeletal muscles, and serous membranes is provided. The text is a second edition and includes new chapters on apoptosis and human joints. Information on paranasal sinuses and oral cavity structures is also included in this new edition. A subject index, references at the end of each chapter, black-and-white and color micrographs, and other illustrations are incorporated into the text. |
